Quincy Collins is a digital artist and ‘23 DAAP alumni, with certificates in Game Art and Animation.

I have always found myself fascinated with storytelling through digital mediums and have expanded on this interest through considerable practice in digital art, dating back as early as 2010.

I am interested in the fields of game design and animation because I believe art is best enjoyed in a format that engages the viewer. As someone who adores both kinds of entertainment, I understand the power, value, and influence they can have on their audience. I want to make art feel accessible to everyone, and these mediums allow me to achieve that goal.

I am well-practiced in character design and have developed several video game and story concepts. I do commission work on a semi-regular basis and have been hired to do pet portraits and small-scale murals. I have also done work in corporate fields, such as the safety training animation I directed and animated for a local nonprofit, Artworks, and the assets and animations I have made for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital as a Media Lab intern.

Why “Pome Draws”?

In botany, a “pome” is a type of fruit produced by flowering plants within the family Rosaceae. Within this classification are fruits such as apples, pears, and most important to me, the quince fruit. Plants have always been something I look towards for peace and inspiration, and since my nickname is quince, I thought it would be a fun and recognizable name to call myself within my professional art career. The “draws” part of the name should be self-explanatory!
